Edenwald
Edenwald is one of the largest PACT/RAD conversions in New York City history. Working with the New York City Housing Authority, EVI and partners are investing over $750 million to transform more than 2,000 units in the Bronx — upgrading interiors, overhauling energy systems, improving building operations, and rebuilding public spaces the community relies on every day. Edenwald is proof that public housing can be preserved, improved, and made to work for the next generation of residents.
Concordia Place
Concordia Place represents one of the most comprehensive affordable housing rehabilitations in northern Illinois. EVI and L+M deployed $100 million to overhaul units, building systems, and grounds — while building out dedicated resident services and a strengthened safety infrastructure. The scale of investment reflects EVI's conviction that residents of affordable housing deserve the same quality of living environment as anyone else.
Lafayette Plaza
Lafayette Plaza is a full rehabilitation of a large former cooperative building on Chicago's South Side. EVI acquired the property in partnership with L+M Development Partners and invested over $30 million to fully transform 196 units — upgrading building systems, improving unit quality, and restoring a building with significant deferred maintenance to a standard its residents can be proud of.
CareHaus
CareHaus is the first intergenerational care-based co-housing project in the United States. Designed to house seniors and caretakers under one roof with shared programming and support services, CareHaus reimagines what housing can do for a community. Rather than isolating residents by age, CareHaus builds in connection — between generations, neighbors, and the broader neighborhood. It's a new model for how we house people, developed and proven first in Chicago.
Smokey City Redevelopment
Smokey City is EVI's most ambitious placemaking project to date. Spanning multiple stages of development along a disinvested corridor in Memphis, the project combines affordable housing, a CareHaus intergenerational living community, new restaurants, and community spaces into a single coordinated vision for neighborhood revitalization. EVI is investing in the full fabric of a place — addressing housing, economic activity, and community infrastructure at the same time.
